Birthday Card

Hi Everyone just a quick post today to share a birthday card i made for a male relative who works with and loves all types of cars.

P1070876

Two different people have inspired this background, Paper Artsy for their brayering technique and Val from So Simply Snazzy Blog for her stamp collaging idea.

I have some thick card A4 sheets that i had sprayed with watered down Cosmic Shimmer sprays which need using up so i used Quinacridone Gold and Turquoise Hue from DecoArt to add the colours over the top followed by a layer of Snowflake Fresco paint so i could add the stamping.

Used an old set of Tim Holtz Visual Artistry stamps to create the background using Sepia Versafine Ink.

Cut a piece from the master board, added it onto another layer of kraft card, went over the edges with black Distress Ink.

Adhered this to a 4 x 4 inch card and added the sentiment from a freebie set of stamps. Added a line around Umbrella Man, added a Stabilo All black pencil line to the outside and then added a little water to add a little smudging.

Stamped the back of the card with the car, the envelope with Umbrella Man and added an insert also stamped with Umbrella Man.

I am entering my card into the following Challenges:

Craft Stamper: Take A Stamp

That’s Crafty Challenge: Tick Tock

  22. Thanks for your comment MoH :D I will be sure to say Hi to Wee Man :D I was looking for my Danny Gregory book for days and days and could not find it anywhere, but as I was tidying things away, like old tags and such, all of a sudden there it was, at eye level on the shelf I was in front of. Literally! How bizarre. Hope you 'find' your books soon :D
