Not been able to get the Enya song out of my head since i started thinking about sprays!
I am entering two challenges with this post, one for Paper Artsy and their challenge of sprays and one for Rubber Dance where Bibi has chosen bright summery shades of purple, hot pink and sunshine yellow.
I love purple but not so keen on pink or yellow.
For the Paper Artsy plaque i made a wash from Zesty Zing and another from Purple Rain and Eggplant. I sprayed them liberally onto a thick piece of card stock then added Funky Fuchsia by Dylusions as i don’t own a pink Fresco.
Layered the background using stencils from Rebekah Meier – mini rosetta and Ronda Palazzari – mini well rounded using Distress inks Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves and Mustard Seed.
Stencilled the flowers from Lin Brown PS003 using a clear Gesso. Waited for these to dry then placed the stencil over the top again and coloured with Coarse Black Pan Pastel. Sprayed to set then added script stamp from my stash with Brilliance Moonlight White ink pad.
Outlined the flowers using a white Stabilo pen.
Stamped one of the hearts from Rubber Dance plate I Heart Art onto a piece of shrink plastic using a Blazing Red Stazon ink pad. Let it dry then on the other side i added 3 different red colours of alcohol inks.
Cut to shape then shrank them down, then reheated them one by one and stamped into them with the script stamp i used on the flower, this is called Intaglio, made three of the hearts.
Added DecoArt Metallic Lustres Majestic Purple and Champagne Ice over the top as wanted to blend them with the colours i was using.
Here is the one i made for the Rubber Dance challenge, the difference is the background which was made from Derwent Graphik Line Markers and a little of the Dylusions Fuchsia spray. Added water to get the drips and then flicked the pens to get those lovely little splats.
The next steps are all the same as i did on the first plaque, this one is slightly larger.
Finally i added a sentiment from Rubber Dance stamp plate Something Wonderful.
I do hope you like both the plaques, they are so similar in colours aren’t they!
After taking the pictures i have put both plaques onto corrugated cardboard, they look much better, sorry i haven’t taken pictures yet.
Hope you have a wonderful Bank holiday Monday and i hope to see you back here tomorrow when i have a very special and exciting announcement.
Looking forward to your lovely comments, thanks for dropping by.
